Workplace Justice Vision and Mission

The Workplace Justice Project fosters respect for the inherent worth of all human beings by promoting the fundamental right to work with dignity. We envision a society where workers are ensured just and safe working conditions, including the fundamental rights to be paid fully and fairly, to join forces with other workers for the promotion and protection of their mutual economic and social interests, to have opportunities to work and advance free from discrimination, and to work in conditions that are safe, healthy, and provide that provide adequate time for leisure and rest.

The Workplace Justice Project partners with low-wage workers, community and labor organizations, and fellow advocates to promote justice in the workplace and in the courts. We litigate in federal and state courts, enabling our clients to stand up to wage theft, recover their unpaid wages, and send a message that bedrock wage laws cannot be violated with impunity. We advocate in the legislature for systemic reforms to strengthen our workplace laws and ensure access to justice for all workers. We work in coalition to improve workplace health and safety by advocating for policies that recognize the human dignity of each worker.
